Footy volunteers competition

EVERY week across Melbourne, hundreds of people make sure their local footy team gets on the park.

Whether they are volunteers who run the canteen, wash jumpers or run the boundary, they all make a contribution.

Once again, Leader Community Newspapers wants to honour those volunteers and recognise their efforts.

This year, with the support of Channel 9 and the AFL, Leader is offering 10 football volunteers the chance to win a seat in a corporate box for the Melbourne-Richmond twilight clash at the MCG on Sunday, August 21.

1) Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions of Entry. By entering the promotion, entrants accept these conditions of entry.

3) The promotion is known as the ‘Leader AFL Volunteers’ promotion.

4) Entry is available to Victorian residents only.

5) This promotion will be promoted in Leader Community Newspapers and on www.leadernews.com.au and www.localfooty.com.au . Employees and immediate families of Leader Community Newspapers and News Ltd companies associated with this promotion and their associated agencies are not eligible to enter.

7) The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry.

9) Entrants must contribute to their football club in any volunteer capacity. To be eligible for this promotion, entrants cannot receive a wage or salary from the club at which they are a volunteer.

10) Entrants must be aged 18 or over.

11) Promotion opens at 9.00am (AEST) on Monday 11/07/2011 and closes at 11.59pm (AEST) on Friday 05/08/2011. (‘promotion period’)

12) Entrants can enter by visiting www.leadernews.com.au or www.localfooty.com.au during the promotion period. Entrants will be prompted to complete the online entry form which will require address, contact numbers, date of birth, email and address details.

Entrants can nominate themselves. Entrants will be required to specify the football club where they volunteer, their role, length of service and tell us in 25 words or less ‘what local footy means to you’.

TV Central | Blog | Wimbledon 2011: Full Seven/ 7TWO coverage schedule

With Australians being able to watch the coverage earlier than ever before.

Seven and 7TWO will provide coverage of the event live throughout Australia. The broadcast will be hosted by Todd Woodbridge with commentary from John Newcombe, Rennae Stubbs, Sam Smith, John McEnroe, Boris Becker, Lindsay Davenport and Tim Henman.

Each night, the coverage will start earlier on 7TWO then switches to Seven later in the evening. Here is the full line-up:

The Live coverage of Wimbledon in channel Seven is Rubbish!!!! Last night the two most important matches were on (Federer and Djokovitch) but there were not televised, when I called this morning to ask about that, they say that Foxtel has the rights to those matches so they can not show them!!! Why do they even bother having live coverage if they won’t show the main matches?
