Capitol Products building lien transfer tabled
Nelligan agreed to work out a deal with Patsy Renzullo, who is handling Laurel City Revamp’s legal affairs, regarding the lien. Michael Renzullo’s offer for the lien is $1, to be paid immediately, with the remaining $25,000 to be paid upon sale of the building or within several years. Nelligan was on board with this part of the deal, but said that in the interest of protecting taxpayers, there should be a clause stating that if Laurel City Revamp sells the building or shuts down before the deal is closed, Laurel City Revamp would be on the hook for the lien’s full amount of $85,000. This event would be the only way the town could recoup the full amount of the lien, according to Renzullo and Selectman George Closson. There is very little of Capitol Products to pursue, and Closson said, “there’s no way we’ll be able to collect that money” from the corporation, which is in the process of winding down its operations. The other town committee with a say in the future of Laurel Place, the Water and Sewer Commission, already held their July meeting, and will next meet August 9. Although the Selectmen directed Renzullo to get their opinion — an instruction the Laurel City Revamp executive director did not oppose — Nelligan said the two committees could ponder the matter simultaneously. Renzullo, in particular, believes that the Water and Sewer Commission’s interest in the building, which stems from several small amounts and the interest on the monies owed to the town, is minimal, saying, “I have every belief that water and sewer will be cooperative.” Consequently, the Laurel City Revamp executive director was chomping at the bit to clear whatever hurdles remain so he could begin work as soon as possible. You know this reminds me of when Queen Mary thought her half sister Elizabeth was part of the plot to seize the throne away from a Catholic lunatic (Mary) who
burned heretics at the stake.
Elizabeth wrote her half sister pleading innocence and scrawled large loopy lines where there were blanks so that some Catholic zealot wouldn't insert
forgery and implicate Elizabeth.
I think the bank is making sure that some hacker doesn't insert $10,000 deposits in ReRe's account and prevent ReRe from entering the bank and
demanding her money. Or something.
