On June 4 and 5, the Dalton Fire Company hosted a chicken barbecue that started at 11 a.m., and 10 percent of all sales were donated.
The weekend included appearances by local firemen, fire trucks and featured food and many giveaways. The biggest prize given was Pennsylvania 500 tickets, won by Ralph Kehrli.
The Dalton Lumber Do It Center was able to donate $2,000 to Northeast Emergency Services Training Center owner Doug Lacoe said he and wants to thank everyone who assisted them in helping grow the training center.

The inside is cheery, the seating comfortable, with the dessert menu drawn on a huge chalkboard that covers one wall. Our waitress was wonderfully attentive and good with our daughter (who gets chatty).
My broccoli bites were actual florets of fresh broccoli, battered and fried, as opposed to the scoops of cheese with bits of broccoli that I usually find. Even Cassidy willingly ate several pieces, albeit slathered in the dip (which was pretty dang yummy). Jeff (aka Dad, my husband) ordered some sort of shrimp platter for his appetizer and had to share, as far more arrived on his plate than he expected.
ALL the portions given were beyond generous. We had enough leftovers to provide lunch the next day (except for Mav, who devoured his ‘roo burger). I make a mighty fine homemade baked mac-and-cheese, if I do say so myself, but the Chicken Cordon Bleu mac I had (the Mac of the month, with grey poupon, ham, & bread crumbs with gruyere and brie!) was fantastic.
Very very good food, surprisingly kid-friendly venue, a little on the pricey side for a family of five but factoring in the leftovers, not unreasonable for a meal out. Oh, and the LIVE MUSIC was a cover band that played on the bar side, not too loud at all. I thought I heard some Dylan, Johnny Cash, and the like. An enjoyable evening all around, and the kids are already asking to go again.
