Ben Cook column: More bad news in college football's mid-week report

&Ldquo; It hurts a little bit because I was a part of that. I was out there sweating, bleeding and trying to get those wins,” he said. “If that's what they've got to do, we have to move on and try to repeat them (wins) this season. The films are there and everyone saw what happened. Everyone knows what happened in the 2010 season.” West Virginia linebacker Branko Busick has been kicked off the Mountaineers following his arrest for armed robbery. Busick allegedly threatened a man with a gun and demanded money and when the victim said he didn’t have any, Busick reportedly started to beat the man with the gun. Of course, this is all alleged until Busick is found either guilty or not guilty, but WVU coach Dana Holgorsen didn’t wait and booted Busick from the team. Two things I found interesting in this story. The first is that Busick’s father is former WWF wrestler Nick “Big Bully” Busick so Branko has grown up around an atmosphere of violence whether real or staged. Do you think that might have had something to do with his actions? And second, Busick will have a preliminary hearing on August 1st in front of — here it comes — Magistrate Jim Nabors . The death of Oklahoma linebacker Austin Box was caused by a combination of five different prescription painkillers and an anti-anxiety medicine, according to the toxicology report from the state medical examiner’s office. Again, you have to wonder how much of the football mentality played into him having so many legal painkillers in his system. His parents, Gail and Craig Box released this statement: “There is no greater pain than the loss of a child. The pain is intensified by knowing that the death of your child could have been prevented. Anyone that knew Austin would give testament to his pure heart. The love and pride we feel for our son cannot be diminished by the cause of his death. He gave us so much joy and so many wonderful memories. He will forever be `Mommy's baby' and `Daddy's little boy.’” … Also, have you wondered what happened to former Georgia AD Damon Evans , who lost his job in a disgraceful incident when he was caught driving under the influence with a woman in the car with him who was not his wife and her panties were wadded up in his lap?

Child Support Enforcement Guidelines Against Missouri Deadbeats ...

How is Missouri child support determined? Missouri uses Form 14 to plug in the relevant numbers to determine support. This formula is the presumed child support amount though the parents may agree to a different number. The paying parent often thinks he or she is getting the bad end of the deal, but the formula is set to approximate how much the non-custodial parent would be contributing to the child if the family was in tact. This covers not only obvious costs like food and clothes, but includes things like housing, gas, insurance and utilities. Parents know there are a thousand little costs that go into providing for a child.

Does the Missouri child support order include medical expenses? It will always address medical expenses. A common scheme is to order the non-custodial parent to get whatever coverage he or she has available through work. Parents then often split any uncovered costs. This split may be 50/50 or based on the percentages calculated in Form 14. But judges are granted a lot of freedom to address the specific family financial situation.

When can I increase my child support? Technically you can increase your support the next day if the circumstances warrant it. Normally a judge wants to see a sizable change in the amount of the support payment. Sizable is often defined as 20%. The only way you can know this though is to run the present situation through the Form 14 to see in your changes do to changes in parental income or child care expenses warrant an increase. If going through child support enforcement you can ask them the reevaluate your support amount every 3 years.

In addition to wage withholding what tools can I use to collect child support? While wage withholding or wage garnishment is the most common method you can use a wide variety of tools. If they have it or will pay to keep it you can attach it in some way. I once knew a lawyer who seized a guy’s dog and he coughed up the money. This is not a normal approach though. Normally your private child support collector would look for things like bank accounts, brokerage accounts, real estate, and vehicles and seize them.

At what age does child support automatically terminate? The simple answer is 18. But the answer is not simple. If your child has not yet graduated from high school when they turn 18 you are still entitled to support until they graduate. If they get married, join the military or otherwise become emancipated before 18 or graduation then support ends.
